Rhyan's Hope 4 Mile Road Race Update
Rhyan's Hope 4 Mile - RUN TO HEAR

When we first started planning Rhyan’s Race, we were told that most first annual events of this nature don’t raise that much money. While raising money would come with future races, recognition is key. If we put on a good race this year, we’ll have a much better turn out next year, more sponsorships, more money will be raised. In my mind, I was hoping for better, but I had prepared myself to be grateful for 150 runners. I was prepared to be thankful for a couple thousand dollars. More than runners and money, I wanted people in the community to be aware of cochlear implants and the children that have proven themselves as miracles. The donations would come by knowing these children.

The day before the race, I felt worry wash over me. What I kept hearing in my soul was, “I’m for you, not against you.” And it sustained me. Race day came and He proved His presence and His faithfulness. I might have been content with 150 runners and a couple thousand dollars. But like all my greatest life moments, He wanted to show Himself.

Rhyan’s Hope 1st annual Run to Hear ended with 261 registered runners and over 20 sponsors. We raised approximately $14,000. Minus race expenses, we have nearly $10,000 that will go toward our goal in enabling that 4 year old girl to hear.

My thanks, again, is to you. And the glory is His.
