I remember nearly two years ago, I first voiced the idea of a road race to raise money for Rhyan’s Hope. Not having any idea where to start, I don’t think I thought for a moment that it would ever happen. Then I met Debbie. Some of you know our story. God sent her straight to me through a mutual friend and she immediately dug in with the foundation. So much so that she became the Vice-Chair for Rhyan’s Hope Board. During our very first meeting, she said that she had big plans for us and one of those was a road race.
And here we are. I am honored and beyond thrilled to announce the Rhyan’s Hope First Annual 4 Mile road race to be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Sweetwater, 7:30 a.m.
On-line registration begins Wednesday, July 1st.
Run/Walk/Kid’s Fun Run
The course is a USATF Certified route through the gorgeous tree-lined streets of the Sweetwater area. We are excited to have both runners and walkers with a kid’s fun run immediately following the race at 8:30.
Volunteer
We need volunteers. We will need some very special and amazing individuals to help prior to race day by stuffing race packets, hanging posters, and obtaining sponsors. And the day of the race we will need about 30 of those amazing people to hand out race packets, man water stations, set up, and clean up. I don’t ask this lightly. I realize that your time is valuable, but this is worth it. I promise!!
Spirit Runners
For those of you that don’t enjoy running or walking, or simply can’t make it, we would love to have you there in spirit. With your donation, you will be represented by name at the race.

And we need sponsors! If you have your own business or you work for someone with their own business, we’d love to have your sponsorship. If you are interested, I will send you over a sponsorship packet listing the benefits of your involvement…aside from giving a child the gift of hearing.
